Flag

  • Round UP your playing handicap to the nearest number divisible by 3 (e.g. 8 = 9, 10 = 12, 16 = 18 etc.).

  • Calculate 2/3 of the adjusted number (e.g. 9 = 6, 12 = 8, 15 = 10, 21 = 14 etc.).

  • Add the result to the par for the course (e.g. 71 + 6 = 77, 72 + 14 = 86 etc.).

  • The result is the number of shots you are allocated for the competition.

  • The first group carries the flag and the last player to run out of shots writes their name on the flag and places the flag where his/her last shot came to rest. (if the last shot is in the rough, the player shall place the flag on the edge of the fairway in line with where the ball came to rest).

  • Any player who still has shots left when they reach the flag picks it up and carries it until he/she runs out of shots then writes their name on it and places it where their last shot came to rest.

  • If any player has shots left after having completed the 18th hole, he/she shall place the flag in the hole and write down how many shots they have left (e.g. if, you have been allocated 85 shots and complete the 18 holes in 83 shots, write your name and “2 shots left” on the flag). The player who places the flag the furthest distance from the first tee or who has the most shots left at the completion of the round shall be declared the winner.
